Projecting a presentation
The Swivl app is designed to not only to capture slides and video for upload during recording, but also to be used as presentation platform to deliver to a live audience. You can do away with your computer and simply use a Swivl enabled mobile device! There are several ways to do this. Here’s your quick guide.
For iOS devices, by far the simplest and easiest way is to use an Apple TV. Once Apple TV is setup on your network, it presents the option to mirror your display. All you need to do is open the control panel, select AirPlay – Apple TV – Mirroring.
From there, just open the Swivl App and start capture. The app is designed to only mirror your slide content to viewers.
Don’t have an Apple TV, or Apple TV doesn’t work with your network?
An alternate option for you is to use a display cable. You simply plug in the proper cables and follow the same directions to Mirror your display. The Swivl motors are strong enough to move with a cable connected. You just need to insure that there is sufficient cable to support you range of motion and limited items to to catch the cable when it moves.
If your projector supports HDMI, you can use Apple’s Ligtning to Digital AV adapter or 30 Pin to Digital AV adapter. If your projector doesn’t support digital audio, you’ll need a Lightning to VGA adapter.
The Android to equivalent to Apple TV is Chromecast. Chromecast will allow you to similarly project what is displayed on your mobile device using Casting.
